Hello!
Our family of three is looking to find a sweet long term rental. We are responsible, conscientious, and communicative tenants. We have good credit, local references, rental history, and steady income.
We both grew up in Santa Cruz and have lived here together for the past 11 years.
We are a wholesome, nature loving family, who loves to cook, play, and garden. Our home is our sanctuary and we enjoy taking good care of the homes we live in.
M is a marriage and family therapist practicing in Santa Cruz and working for a non profit.
K is an Ayurvedic practitioner and postpartum educator who works in childbirth.
O is our sweet and curious son who loves water and being in the forest.
We are open to different kinds of homes, and have lived in small spaces. Ideally a one or two bedroom, but open to a large studio or yurt.
Ideal locations would be Bonny Doon, Davenport, Felton, Soquel hills, Happy Valley, and Westside. I grew up in Bonny Doon with goats and chickens and love living close to nature. My husband worked as a gardener and landscaper for many years and loves to tend to outdoor spaces.
We are really hoping to stay in our home town! Thank You for helping us find a home :)
I am professional and clean, respectful, and care for my home that I am living in.
My current lease is up in late October and I am looking for something that fits me better. I am hoping to find a small place for a reasonable price. I'm hoping to find something closer to the $2000 price range, but open to discussion.
I have amazing credit and a very stable job, I take wonderful care of the properties I live in, and my last landlord even offered to lower my rent to keep me as a tenant. I just want to find something that is small and comfortable with a washer and dryer. I will take wonderful care of the property while I'm there and can promise you won't ever find a better tenant. For Rent:

Hi,
I’m a 40-year-old who has lived most of my life in the Santa Cruz area, running my own businesses. I’m a Lakota Medicine and a trained holistic practitioner. I’ve spent years working as a caregiver for cancer patients and mentally ill individuals, but now, I’m too sick to provide these services. My caregiving experiences also led me into some dangerous situations, and I’ve ended up needing to start over in life.
I’ve been fighting lymphoma for the past 8 years, and I’m currently preparing to undergo a 3-month harsh treatment, followed by another 3 months of recovery. This treatment will make it impossible for me to earn much income or take on physical work. What I’m looking for is a place to live from November to May, where I can focus on healing and regaining stability.
I’ve been living at a Buddhist Monastery in Boulder Creek, where I planned to start my cancer treatment. Unfortunately, a man tried to rob the monastery, and I was attacked while defending the property. I suffered an injury in the process, and although I pressed charges and obtained a restraining order, I am now being asked to leave due to liability concerns related to the court case. This whole situation has caused me a lot of stress, worsening my health. I’ve lost my job because I couldn’t work during the legal proceedings, and now, I’m in a position where I need a safe place to recover.
I have a successful jewelry business at www.handmadehempjewelry.com that I’ve had to put on hold for a few years, but I have all the supplies I need to restart it once I’m in a stable living environment. Additionally, I’ve been working on art comics and storyboards for Hollywood, and I’m a programmer, currently developing applications to help disabled people express themselves through art. I have the skills and projects to get my businesses going again, but right now, I need space to focus on my health.
I prefer rural settings and the forest, as I’m sensitive to electronic vibrations, which can affect my cancer. I need a room where I can stay warm and do my physical therapy, with minimal stress or disruption. I work long hours programming throughout the night and need a quiet environment to focus. I can offer about 4-6 hours of work trade a week—helping with cooking, cleaning, or providing massage or healing sessions—but I can’t take on anything physically demanding or stressful. I’m very clean and self-sufficient, and I keep to myself. I have a cat who stays on a leash in my room and doesn’t cause any trouble. I don’t smoke, drink, or do drugs, and I’m not interested in anything romantic—this is strictly about finding a place to heal.
I’m awake at night due to pain and my work schedule, but I’m quiet and respectful. I’m also autistic, so I can’t handle aggressive energy or criticism. My heart condition makes stress and confrontation dangerous for me. I need a peaceful, judgment-free environment, without drama, where I can recover. I won’t interfere with your life and would be happy to help out in small ways when I’m able.
In the past, I’ve cared for others and ended up in difficult situations, but now I’m asking for help. I’ve lost most of my family (they are passed) and contacts due to my caregiving work and travel, and this legal situation has left me in a vulnerable position. I need a place to stay from November to May while I go through treatment, get back on my feet, and work toward restarting my businesses. I can cover my own food and personal necessities, and I just need a calm, safe space to heal. If you have an unused room or space available, please consider helping me out.
Thanks for reading.
